HIGH SCHOOL DONORS
When high school students donate blood and host drives, they’re doing more than donating blood—they’re cultivating a generation that understands the importance of giving back.
Of course, hosting blood drives saves lives. But it also instills leadership, civic responsibility and the confidence that action can create real change. We are proud to offer several exciting programs tailored for high schools.

Your school can be a vital part of ensuring blood is available for local hospitals. But more than that, you can inspire students to lead with heart and purpose. Together, we can build a culture of giving that starts in your school and ripples into the community. We would be honored to partner with you to make this vision a reality.
ELEMENTARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL SUPPORTERS
The Blood Connection couldn’t do what we do without the wonderful support from area elementary and middle schools. Our elementary and middle school program recognizes students and their schools for saving lives in our community. Together, we can make a big difference. Children are our future. Let’s teach them to change their communities now, so they can lead the way.
STUDENTS
You don’t have to give blood to make an impact. Any student can sponsor a blood donor. Just bring mom, dad, a sibling or friend to your school’s drive.
SCHOOLS
TBC will award a $500 grant for every blood drive that collects 30 or more donations.
IN THIS TOGETHER
More than 130+ hospitals in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia depend on The Blood Connection as their blood provider of choice. However, blood supply stability often ebbs and flows with current events, and sometimes donations at high schools and colleges are negatively impacted. With a 40% decline in donations from those under 24 from 2019 to 2021, students are showing a declining interest in donating blood. Meanwhile, there has been a 56% growth in donors over the age of 80. It’s time to tip the scale and regain stability.
SIMPLE AND IMPACTFUL
Banners, social media and school announcements are great ways to promote your blood drive. TBC will provide you with promotional materials and QR codes to schedule appointments. The more appointments made, the more lives are saved.
After the drive, your TBC rep will share blood drive results for you to share with friends. Then you can set and confirm your next lifesaving blood drive. Fall and spring are the most popular times.
